Zimbra is a powerful and easy to use E-MAIL collaboration system that does everything Squirrelmail does; but better.  If you are interested in testing this new Web-Based e-mail system that is both user friendly and yet powerful; please enter your VVM login information below

Create Account: Upon doing so, an account will be created that you can experiment with as an alternative (or a companion) to Squirrelmail.

Separate: This sytem is completely seperate but will contain all your Squirrelmail e-mail and allow you to send and receive normally.

Better Spam Mgmt: Our initial objective in developing this is to utilize Zimbra's superior Spam and Junk E-mail management capabilities.

Zimbra is first something that we are testing to see if users would be interested in using it instead of or in addition to Outlook or Squirrelmail.

The main reasons are that it is very similar to Outlook; however does not require you to actually maintain or configure Outlook on your computer. Outlook is sometimes a troublesome software to deal with and this is an attempt to give our customers an alternative.

Secondly, for those that access their e-mail from multiple locations they can get their e-mail from any computer and are not just limited to checking their e-mail with the Outlook that resides on their personal computer.

Thirdly: Spam Management. The problem with Outlook is that our spam filters block spam and keep it on the server but does not deliver it to your Outlook. So you have to leave Outlook to go check your spam folder on the server. This is a hassle and we are hoping the convenience of having your Spam or Junk folder in the same location as your e-mail will make it easier to manage your spam.

With the more robust spam filter that is integrated with Zimbra unlike Outlook, it gives you more control over your e-mail spam and non-spam alike and has the added perk of never blocking any address book entry that you have in Zimbra.

For the basic functions you see there, there will not be an additional cost. There are features that Zimbra has that are geared to the Corporate user like document sharing, shared calendars.. etc that will be an additional charge, but are not features that your general home user would probably ever need.

There are a number of other features such as high strength SSL encryption that makes using Zimbra slightly more secure. than Outlook and improved Spam Management.

Zimbra is designed to be an alternative or replacement for users who find Outlook doesn't meet their needs or has too many problems. There are many tools that come with it designed to help you migrate your Address Book, mail.. Calendars...etc.. into Zimbra

When we deploy this fully, even users who continue to use Outlook will have a tighter integration with the mail system using some Zimbra capabilities. Those who continue to use Outlook will not need to make any changes, this will happen transparently to the end user.

Please NoteNo changes are going to be required by anyone if they choose not to use Zimbra. Everything you do now you will do in the same way as before
