Sprites . . . .

Often thought of as seen in the artwork above. Elusive creatures, but gentle too, unless you disturb their hiding places in your backyard shrubbery.
Then they are likely to call on their acquaintances, the Trolls.....who will take care of the problem, since they are also reputed to lurk in the darker side of those demesnes.
