The Great Pyrenees was not bred to be a house pet. They are livestock guardian dogs and are in the working class. The Great Pyrenees also is not a breed for everyone and that sweet little fluffy pup will soon grow in excess of 100 lbs. Something else to keep in mind is that fluffy coat will shed twice a year. Unless the coat is cared for properly and on a regular basis you will soon have a matted and miserable Pyrenees. The Great Pyrenees is also a barker and capable of making decisions independent of human direction. The Pyrenees will make a wonderful family dog - but one must keep in mind that this is NOT what they were originally bred for. I do not want to sound negative, however many people that adopt or purchase a Pyrenees simply do not do enough research on the breed. If you are interested in adding a Pyrenees to your family, with the proper training and dedication on your part - you will have many years of love and devotion from your Pyrenees.  Great Pyrenees are being turned into shelters in record numbers. If you are interested in purchasing a Great Pyrenees, please take the necessary time needed in making this important decision and also think about adoption. Beside's avoiding the puppy phase-potty training and chewing,  you will be getting a rescue dog that has been temperament tested, vetted, and evaluated by the rescue coordinators. The older dogs available for adoption make wonderful - loving and devoted family pets and they are literally DYING for good homes.
