List & Ways to Help! There are many ways to help - below are just a few. Please contact a member of our staff for additional information. Foster homes are in desperate need of the following items and please remember that a foster home brings the dog into THEIR home. They already have their own pets and supplies. The addition of a new dog even if just for a few days or weeks - while some are in foster care for months - will cause a strain on the family budget. FOSTER HOME WISH LIST: towels - shampoo - conditioner - dog food (any size bag is appreciated!) - $5.00 to $____ will help with the mandatory spay & neuter for the foster dog - any grooming supplies - blankets - disinfectant - collars & leashes I am unable to donate any money - what else can I do to help? 1. Volunteer or organize a dog washing day. It takes a lot of time to wash, dry and brush a Great Pyrenees. ANY foster home will appreciate the help! 2. Volunteer to help socialize that foster dog! Some are sound in temperament, however some are scared due to abuse or neglect. Just sitting with a scared pyr and letting him/her learn that all hands do NOT hurt will work miracles! 3. If you are an obedience instructor - volunteer an hour a week at your shelter or contact us to arrange time with one of our foster homes to get needy Pyrs in shape for their new homes! A well-mannered pet will have a better chance of not being dumped or returned to rescue. |
